Jason Ali Allen Speaks on the Importance of Your Vote

Jason Ali Allen began his work inside the Democratic Party as a National Delegate for Bernie Sanders representing Oregon in 2016 to the Democratic National Convention. Current Endorsement Task Force Chair for Multnomah County, is one of Multnomah County’s elected representatives to the State Central Committee, governing body of the Democratic Party of Oregon and there serves on the Platforms and Resolutions Committee as well as the Special Committee developing the Code of Conduct. Jason was born in pre-revolutionary Iran and still has more than 100 maternal family members living in Tehran. Thus, through his family, Jason has a personal connection to a recent violent revolution with its aftermath and the victimizing effect colonization has on the democratic aspirations of a nation. Jason lived most of his life in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago where he was bussed to Lab School, one of the nation’s earliest fully racially and economically desegregated schools which centered the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement in its curriculum. He studied Islamic Studies at the University of Granada, Spain, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Spanish Language from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers for five years as a Human Resources Consultant and then travelled around the world on a spiritual, archeological, natural, and culinary journey for four years visiting over 30 countries before beginning his life building homes in Portland, Oregon in 2004. Jason has learned and unlearned several languages but is currently fluent in English, Spanish and French. He builds Small Homes in Portland, Oregon, is a father of two strong children ages 14 and 13, and is married to a recently emigrated Canadian Chinese Classical Medicine Doctor.
